Dear Comrades,

The much expected strike has been deferred. To a great extent the unilateral approach of the department has been contained but that is temporary. Once again department may resort to non-consulting of unions on crucial issues if they feel employees are not with the Unions. So employees union only will render success.
With these quotes I would like all of you to watch the Twitter Updates posted in the AIPEUP3CHQ blogspot where it is quoted that
“Systems Asst with grade pay 4200 will be considered along with cadre review proposals” So this is outcome of the 3 years long struggle. There may be controversial opinions about the nomenclature. When the PB-2 with Grade Rs.5400 news was received our own people found the chances of getting to that place is remote. Our own SAs got dejected. Many our SAs have already decided that they don’t deserve that pay structure. Yes, that is the practical reality our guys have sub-consciously gone done. There is a high possibility that only limited number Posts will be identified for that cadre and chances of many of our SAs being left out is high. Hence what is feasible at this juncture has been done by our union leaders.
Today our General Secretary Com.K.V.Sridharan called me over phone and conveyed that the proposal has been accepted by the department without getting into a strike. The proposal was accepted after quoting the examples in other departments where the Post of System Assistants exists. Thanks to one of our SA named Sukendu Ghosh (I think from West Bengal). Sukendu Ghose sent a recruitment advertisement of AICTE which depicted that a Post named System Assistant exists in Central government department with Grade 4200. This was used in yesterday’s discussion with our DG. That happened to be strong evidence in negotiating this demand. Hence department was bound to accept that. This is a significant advancement for our 3 years long struggle. Hence don’t lose hope.
Nobody has any intentions to conduct a struggle to lose. All struggles are meant for succeeding only. Intensity and cooperation of the employees only renders success.
In the meantime regarding the Road Mileage allowances and other minor issues are on the verge of clearance from JS & FA. So that will be consolation in keeping our struggle alive till the cadre review is finalised.
